Bahrain Victorious has acquired naming rights to Estadio Nuevo Arcángel through a deal which sees the home stadium of Spanish Segunda División football club, Córdoba CF, take on a sponsor’s moniker for the first time.
The wide-ranging deal includes front-of-shirt brand exposure as well as stadium naming rights. As part of the agreement, the venue will officially be rebranded as the Estadio Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel de Córdoba.
Bahrain Victorious is the sports investment arm of the Gulf nation and already sponsors a UCI World Tour cycling outfit, Team Bahrain Victorious.
The deal with Córdoba also includes exposure on the club’s digital platforms and other promotional materials. Córdoba is owned by Infinity Capital, a private equity business based in Bahrain.
Club chief executive, Antonio Fernández Monterrubio, told local newspaper El Día de Córdoba that the deal with Bahrain Victorious will be worth around €1.5m (£1.25m/$1.54m).
The newly named Estadio Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel de Córdoba first opened in 1993 and has a capacity of just under 21,000.
Córdoba is currently 15th in the Segunda División table after 26 matches of the season.
