Hospitality company Delaware North has struck a new deal with the Australian Football League (AFL) to continue providing services for Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.
The AFL, which owns and operates the stadium, has reappointed Delaware North following a competitive tender process. Delaware North has been a partner of the venue since it opened in 2000.
Delaware North said it will continue to further elevate the fan experience at Marvel Stadium over the duration of the new deal. The company estimates that it has served more than 50 million customers at nearly 2,000 events at the stadium, generating revenues of over A$1bn (£496m/€601m/$627m).
This year, Delaware North has launched a range of premium restaurants at Marvel Stadium, including ALTIS, Bistro Vic and a refreshed Lee Ho Fook. Other offerings include A1 Bakery, Daniel’s Donuts, Hunky Dory, 400 Gradi Pronto, Earl Canteen and 8Bit Burgers.
Delaware North has also rolled out Amazon Just Walk Out technology, Mashgin self-service kiosks and other grab-and-go services at Marvel Stadium.
Gary Brown, managing director of Delaware North in Australia and New Zealand, said: “It has been a great privilege for Delaware North to have partnered with the AFL and Marvel Stadium for more than two decades, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue to provide high-quality hospitality service to the millions of customers that visit the venue every year.
“As proud as we are of our track record at Marvel Stadium, what matters most is the future, and our capacity to continually innovate and delight our guests with outstanding hospitality options, delivered in a way that enhances their enjoyment of whatever they are watching.”
Scott Fitzgerald, general manager for the AFL at Marvel Stadium, added: “We have a long association with Delaware North, they have played a crucial role in Marvel Stadium’s evolution over the last 24 years, and I am pleased we have extended our partnership in delivering fans a whole suite of offerings to cater for any tastebuds.”
Delaware North’s clients also include MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Wembley Stadium in London and TD Garden in Boston.
