People on the move: The Hundred, FAI and more

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has appointed Vikram Banerjee as managing director of The Hundred.

Banerjee (pictured left) will be tasked with accelerating the global growth of the competition, whose teams are valued at a combined £975m (€1.18bn/$1.23bn) following recent investment. Banerjee currently serves as the ECB’s director of business operations.

In his new role, he will conclude the ongoing sales process and then work with each of the investors, professional counties and wider partners. Banerjee played professional cricket for Gloucestershire and joined the ECB in 2017.

Kit McConnell has been appointed as chief sport officer of the organising committee for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Brisbane.

McConnell has spent 11 years as sports director at the International Olympic Committee, and also worked in the sports department at the Sydney 2000 organising committee.

He will conclude his current role with the IOC on June 30 and commence his new position with Brisbane 2032 on July 21.

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has announced the appointment of Christina Kenny as its new chief operating officer.

Kenny (pictured right) will report directly to the FAI’s chief executive David Courell and play a key role in shaping the organisation’s growth strategy across all levels of football in Ireland. Kenny has previously worked at Irish companies such as NTR Group, Voxpro and Taoglas.

She has also spent time as an independent committee member at the FAI and is a FIFA-licensed agent.

The Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball team has elevated Derek Falvey to president of baseball and business operations, with Dave St. Peter transitioning to the role of strategic advisor.

Falvey is entering his ninth season with the Twins and 18th in MLB. He will be the fifth president in the history of the Twins and the first to carry the dual title of president of business operations.

St. Peter concludes a 22-year tenure as president of the Twins. He joined the team in 1990 and was named president in November 2002, before assuming the title of chief executive in December 2016.

Andrew Taylor has stepped down from his role as catering services director at Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Taylor spent nearly three years with the club, having previously held roles at City Football Group, Williams Racing, NEC Group and Delaware North. Following his departure from Tottenham, he has taken on a part-time strategic role at Levy.
