Paris Entertainment Company (PEC), operator of the Accor Arena and adidas arena, has furthered its drive to diversify its business model by moving into event production.
The operation is being launched through two new events. The first of these will be at the Bataclan, another PEC operated venue.
Les Foudres is designed to be the first awards ceremony focused on the French metal music scene. Taking place on October 9, the ceremony will seek to recognise all parts of the industry, with voting opened up to the general public and the evening featuring live performances that will receive broadcast exposure.
Following this, Accor Arena will be the focal point of H Days, an event running from October 17-19 seeking to build on the staging of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
PEC will run the event alongside former professional wheelchair tennis player, Michaël Jérémiasz, combining sports, culture and advocacy to raise public awareness and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Accor Arena was the setting for wheelchair basketball at Paris 2024. H Days will feature an entertainment village in the Parc de Bercy; conferences and workshops on disability; sporting and musical performances, including a “unique show” on October 18 at the Accor Arena; and a race for all mobilities, from the heart of Paris to the Accor Arena.
H Days is being supported by the French Ice Hockey Federation, French Judo Federation, French Badminton Federation and the French Handisport Federation, along with the City of Paris.
PEC said: “Through H Days, Paris Entertainment Company aims to create a popular and festive annual event that brings people together around the values of solidarity and sharing. This event is also designed to become a replicable model for other major cities.”
PEC announced last month that it was taking its expertise in operating, designing and creating venues overseas through the striking of a formal partnership with Japanese architecture firm Azusa Sekkei, as it seeks to structure its consulting business internationally.
