Moritz Schneider has been appointed as managing director of Sportpark Stadion Frankfurt, the company which manages Deutsche Bank Park, home of Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Schneider (pictured centre) most recently served as senior venue and real estate developer at CTS Eventim, where he played a key role in the planning and construction of a new arena in Milan. He will succeed the retiring Clarissa Böckl as managing director of Sportpark Stadion Frankfurt.

Schneider’s new role will also include oversight of a new arena being built near Deutsche Bank Park.

The Mineirão stadium in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte has appointed Jacqueline Alves as its new director.

Alves (pictured left) is the first woman to lead the stadium in its 60-year history. She has 10 years of experience working at Mineirão in the stadium’s administrative and financial departments.

The Newcastle Jets A-League team has appointed Tain Drinkwater as the club’s new chief executive.

Drinkwater (pictured right) will formally commence her role on May 1. She previously served as chief executive of Netball New South Wales, which included the Swifts and the Giants, and she also worked as chief executive of the Brisbane Broncos’ NRL Women’s team.

Most recently, Drinkwater served as executive general manager of performance and pathways with the NRL, where she helped establish the NRLW competition.

Scottish Championship club Greenock Morton has appointed Paul Farren as its stadium director.

Farren is a director of Assist Design Architects and a lifelong supporter of Greenock Morton. In his role as stadium director, he will support the ongoing repair, maintenance and development of Cappielow Park and its facilities.

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has announced that chief executive Massimo Calvelli will step down from his role at the end of June.

While the ATP searches for his successor, chairman Andrea Gaudenzi will take on the dual role of chairman and chief executive on an interim basis. Calvelli was appointed in January 2020 and previously worked at Nike and Wilson Sporting Goods.

Calvelli’s departure comes after an antitrust lawsuit was recently filed against the ATP, the WTA Tour and other governing bodies by a players’ association founded by Novak Djokovic. The suit accused the organising bodies of being in a “cartel”.
