A key operational senior leadership role, working directly with the Operations Director. You will be responsible for leading experts in Facilities Management, Technology and Health & Safety across the arena.  You will support the mobilisation of the project, driving the operational strategy through embedding process, procedure and compliance.

The Role:

– Lead and collaborate in multi-disciplinary and cross functional project teams to deliver specific projects and programs of activities, bringing together the skills and experience needed to deliver a wide range of shared initiatives and objectives
– Have shared responsibility for the budget and spend across FM, Technology and Health & Safety. You will know it, manage it and seek opportunities for cost efficiencies where appropriate
– Work with your teams on the development of robust operational mobilisation plans to ensure the successful opening of the arena, championing operational excellence
– Develop a best-in-class safety strategy, driving a safety culture which puts safety at the heart of everything we do for fans, artists, community, campus and employees.
– Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders across City Football Group, Manchester City Council and other associated partners
– Use event performance data analytics to identify opportunities to continuously improve and where possible maximise on revenues
– Support the operations director in identifying and developing opportunities for additional revenue streams on non event days
– Support the operations director on all operational projects
– Be an excellent leader injecting positivity and passion into the team, creating opportunities for development, supporting people to be their best and supporting a high performing work environment
– Support positive engagement within the local area, championing safety and sharing best practice

Salary: up to £80,000 plus bonus

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

– Strong operational leadership experience
– A brilliant people manager, putting people first and supporting others
– Strong strategic thinking and influencing skills
– Positive relationship building with partners and professional bodies
– Results focused, with a drive for success
– Adaptable & flexible in managing change & operating in a fast-paced environment
– Understanding of operational governance, safety & facilities at large events
– Commercial awareness
– Strong project mobilisation and project management experience

Desirable:

– Experience of operating under a Premise License
– Critical understanding of the Safety at Sports Grounds (Green Guide) Guidance
– Leadership experience in the music, sport or entertainment industry
– H&S Qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate, NVQ Level 5 Occupational H&S, NVQ 4 Spectator Safety
– Understanding of the Construction, Design & Management (CDM) Regulations 2015
