Sky Stadium is New Zealand’s premier multi-purpose outdoor sports and events facility. Situated in the heart of the region on the Wellington waterfront, the venue is an iconic landmark with seated capacity for 34,000 people. The Stadium is home to rugby, football, cricket and rugby league, as well as concerts, exhibitions and entertainment events.

 

Reporting to the GM Events and Operations, you’ll become part of the small and highly successful operations team and contribute to delivering high-quality events to a level of service that is equivalent to world’s best practice for both hirers and patrons.

 

The operations team is responsible for the planning and management of all aspects of event operation, including patron management, cleaning, waste, ambulance services and parking.

 

Crucial to this role will be your strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service and your ability to build enduring relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

 

With a full and diverse event calendar, Sky Stadium offers a dynamic work environment. They have a really settled team with low staff turnover, so opportunities like this don’t come around very often!

 

Person Profile:

 

  • Experience in venue, event or sports management
  • Organised, with good time management and prioritising skills
  • A keen eye for detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility and common sense
  • Capacity to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work effectively in a small team environment
  • Demonstrated ability in a range of IT applications, including intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office

 

Due to the event-based nature of this organisation, flexibility around working hours is required. You’ll need to be available to work on event days until your event-day tasks have been completed. Where an event falls on a weekend, you’ll be entitled to a day in lieu.
