Departmental Goal: To build Lakers’ brand affinity and the future fan pipeline through the development of digital strategy, execution across platforms and campaigns, while also helping other departments reach fans and publish their content via in-arena and digital platforms.

Position Summary: The Digital Marketing Manager will serve as an expert on all online consumer touch points. This role will work cross functionally among the digital marketing team and various partners. The Manager will develop strategies and tactics to increase traffic to our website and app, increase followership and engagement across our digital platforms and drive brand-healthy revenue across our channels.

Key metrics used to evaluate performance:
• Growth and engagement within email, website, and app
• Digital Sponsorship Dollars
• Opt-in Activity (Surveys, polls, etc.)

Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities**):
• Responsible for developing, implementing and managing digital marketing strategy across web, email, app and in-arena marketing technology
• Responsible for campaigns and development of our owned channels, the audience experience and how well we attract, engage, retain and delight our fans
• Work cross functionally to build result-driven digital campaigns
• Develop and manage strategy and budget for all paid digital media with the goals of increasing brand awareness
• Manage online footprint (website, app, email, social) to grow our followership and ensure that engaging and compelling content is updated on a regular basis
• Will set objectives, strategies, measure and report KPIs
• Responsible for understanding our fans, their behaviors and understand how to improve their experience across our digital marketing products and platforms
• Implementing marketing automation technologies, including the development of the Lakers’ marketing tech stack

Education
(Required/ Preferred): Bachelor’s degree (required) in marketing, advertising or communications. Advanced education is preferred

Previous experience:
• A minimum four (4) years working in digital marketing
• Experience in digital product marketing, web development, e-commerce or growth marketing
• Understanding and experience in a variety of analytic products and services – Google Analytics, Omniture, etc
• Experience in A/B and multivariate testing

Technology Capabilities:
• Experience with marketing tools & services such as Marketo, Hubspot, Adobe Marketing Cloud, SalesForce, Marketing Cloud, Oracle Marketing Cloud

Knowledge, skills, abilities:
• A passion for basketball and the sports industry
• A systems thinker who has a passion for websites, apps, emerging technology, and everything digital
• Understanding of design, copy, social media, and website best practices and guidelines
• Strong understanding of marketing planning and execution, as well as elements involved in marketing execution: insights, strategy, media, creative and digital
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interface with employees at all levels within the organization, and bridge gaps between departments to create better synergies and internal buy-in
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make instant, quality decisions
• A logical approach to problem solving and detailed-oriented
• Stay ahead of technologies and the most current web, social, video and design trends

Physical Demands: N/A

Location: El Segundo (offices M-F), downtown Los Angeles (Staples Center for Laker home games), and other occasional off-site events

Travel: Up to 10% of the time
