JOB SUMMARY: This position directs all event operations for public-ticketed events held at the stadium as well as direct oversight of the ‘Parking’ department, including supervising the Parking & Events Manager (‘Manager’), as well as a high focus on parking & transportation management. Future direct reports may be determined at a later time. This position will also participate in the booking process and contracting of major public events.

Duties And Responsibilities Oversee public-ticketed event operations by

  • Direct event management processes by overseeing all event operations & activities including but not limited to event builds, setups, development of event guides as well as internal and external communication.
  • In conjunction with other department heads across the organization, ensure all elements of event management are facilitated, managed, and completed, per the event requirements
  • Serve as primary point of contact with event client from event announcement throughout settlement, as assigned
  • Serve as event day contact for public-ticketed events, as assigned
  • Lead all event production meetings and follow up meetings with department heads & stakeholders, as each event may require.
  • Promptly address external client needs, troubleshoot issues & challenges presented and work collaboratively with all stakeholders with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Develop processes and procedures to improve event operations.
  • Lead budgeting efforts for event expenditures, in conjunction with Sr. Director and department heads across the organization.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current software systems (VenueOps) and event related documentation to ensure efficient and effective planning efforts.
  • Participate in booking process, to include calendar management, forecasting, event proforma and event settlements to gain a better understanding of event acquisition and client retention.

Oversee Parking Department by

  • Lead efforts in ensuring the planning and coordination of all event parking related activities, to include those responsibilities listed in the job description are accomplished by Manager
  • In conjunction with Manager, ensure a high level of focus is placed on transportation management, e.g. ride share, public transit, traffic police, etc.
  • Develop strategy, in conjunction with Manager, to ensure all customer service and fan experience issues are addressed in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure Manager properly executes all game day related activities, including the necessary documentation and checklists before, during and immediately following events
  • Foster an environment and culture of high standards, professionalism, and innovative thinking throughout department and subordinates
  • Oversight of Parking budget, including revenue generation, efficient and fiscally responsible expenditures and identifying new opportunities.
  • Develop parking and event specific programs for Manager and Assistant to ensure training of software programs and general procedures are followed
  • Establish short & long terms goals for the department, including professional development

Develop reporting, department benchmarking and administrative tasks by

  • Maintaining regular reporting or assign when appropriate, benchmarks via Venue Ops Event Management, Voice of Fan and other event & parking related resources
  • Research products and technology for department to increase revenues, reduce expenses as well as improve the fan and client experience, while improving the efficiency of the operation.
  • Lead quarterly Neighbors of the Stadium meetings; serving as a representative of the stadium to outside organizations and groups including local neighborhood organizations, etc.
  • Managing receptionists at the SMC offices for event and non-event times.

Contributes to the team effort by

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, hospitality management or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in event management or event operations within a stadium, arena, or similar venue.

  • Extremely high level of attention to detail
  • Proven results in a leadership role overseeing a vast amount of responsibility, projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Looks for ways to improve processes & procedures, completes work in timely manner including, but not limited to meeting deadlines and submitting accurate work.
  • Background in parking & transportation and or liaising with a parking services contractor
  • Ability to develop and implement effective management strategies for operation and personnel.
  • Computer efficiency (knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to quickly learn new software programs, including but not limited to Event Management software and budgeting software.
  • Excellent and friendly presence and professional appearance to conduct face-to-face business meetings.
  • Demonstrated results in showcasing customer and client first mentality.
  • This position requires the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Approximate travel expected for this position is 5% or less, to include weekends
  • A writing assignment may be requested as part of the application process

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $95,000 and $120,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
