DW Stadium – Facilities Manager
Wigan Athletic Football Club is recruiting for a Facilities Manager to be responsible for all aspects of the company’s facilities management including the DW Stadium and Training Grounds. Working across all premises ensuring a safe, well maintained, compliant and clean environment.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 [including weekends, evenings and bank holidays]
Contract type: Permanent
You will:
- To support the Head of Operations in the delivery of the Stadium and Training Ground operations
- To have a hands-on approach with regards to both janitorial and maintenance duties
- Continuously work to increase energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness across all areas of the business
- Develop, implement environmental strategies, and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development
- Ensure that waste management schemes are implemented and that any legal requirements with regards to the production, storage, and hand over of waste are met
- To manage all aspects of facilities maintenance including Corrective, preventative and predictive in line with mandatory and in house regimes
- To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, systems, and responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within your department.
- To establish constructive relationships and communication with maintenance and utility provision contractors and other agencies / professionals and record performance against specified standards
- To ensure that the contractor permit to work system is carried out and signed off effectively.
- To ensure that contractors quotes are competitive, and the finished work is in line with the agreed quote
- Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management for your department
- To ensure that provision of workplace equipment including PPE, cleaning products and equipment are kept sufficient
- Manage the activities of janitorial and grounds care staff to ensure delivery of proper cleaning and upkeep service. Including the production of staff rotas and cleaning regimes
- Manage the activities of the maintenance team and to ensure Including the production of staff rotas and maintenance schedules
- To identify staff training and development needs and to ensure these needs are fulfilled and met
- To ensure the groups facilities are opened and closed in a safe and secure manner
- To ensure none-match day security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
- To be the groups facility out of hours point of contact.
- Carrying our routine audits of the group’s facilities, grounds and equipment identifying and reacting to any issues found within the audits.
- To play and active role with regards to managing the groups tenants including acting as liaison to ensure that any maintenance needs are met.
The successful candidate will:
- 5 years facilities management experience of a multi-site operation
- 5 years’ experience of staff management
- Sound knowledge of commercial procedures relating to specification, competitive quotation, and supply
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel and basic knowledge of Word
- Understands and works to commercial procedures for purchasing, tenders/quotations and monitoring of contractors to provide fully auditable records
- Use of fire alarm and security alarm panels
- The potential employee will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
