Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, we are looking for an energetic and creative individual to join
us and lead our fan engagement efforts.
As well as being a key player in putting together every matchday show for our 62,500 fans at the
iconic London Stadium, the successful candidate will also be responsible for organising and
producing non-matchday Club events, and finding new ways to engage our fanbase at every
touchpoint, both at home and internationally.
The role also offers the opportunity to assist in the overall marketing operation to help deliver the
Club’s marketing strategy across all channels, working as a key member of the marketing team.
We are looking for a candidate who is truly passionate about working for one of the fastest growing
football brands in the world, break new ground in engaging supporters online and offline, and
excited by the opportunity to get stuck into a role where the workload is diverse and there are new
challenges everyday.
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead planning and delivery of the Club’s match day entertainment – liaising with internal stakeholders and external agencies in a professional and proficient manner
- Bring creativity and ideas to the table, from matchday activations and larger-scale events to digital fan engagement campaigns
- Lead and manage non-matchday events across the business including but not limited to store signings, product launches and family days
- Lead and execute digital marketing campaigns to engage fans from all over the world with the West Ham United brand
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with external agencies and suppliers
- To help create a long-term strategy to engage our new and longer-term fans, strengthening our relationship with them as we seek to grow the fanbase. This should encompass a full season plan of activities and activations to drive the affinity between fans, stadium and club.
- To undertake ad hoc projects, tasks and assignments across departments as seen appropriate by management
- To support on partner/sponsor-led activations, with consultation on the activation itself and delivery
- Budget management responsibility
- Ensure post-event evaluation is collected, analysed and produce reports for event
- Complete relevant CRM systems with information.
- To ensure compliance with all relevant Club policies, including health and safety policies and with specific reference to the data regulations (GDPR and PECR)

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas: –

Experience/Education:
- Experience within a marketing environment or possess an equivalent marketing qualification (E)
- Proven experience working in live sporting events (E)
- Experience of organising and delivering events (E)
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
- Able to manage own time effectively and work to tight deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to build, develop and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Must be able to manage a high workload whilst maintaining professionalism
- Ability to self-motivate and consistently have a can-do attitude
- Interested in football and knowledge of the industry
- Positive about achieving Club, departmental and individual success
- Very good IT skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Meticulous attention to detail
