JOB PURPOSE

Tottenham Hotspur seeks a Head of Digital Products to join its growing Technology organisation and lead our product team to deliver innovative products that place the club on the bleeding edge of digital in the Sports, Media, and Entertainment industry. The Club is investing heavily in digital and as Head of Digital Products you will own the digital experience for our supporters, and be accountable for our product value proposition, development strategy and roadmap.

You will report into our Head of Technology and work hand in glove with the Club’s Media Director and Head of Growth to deliver and execute on the Club’s digital strategy. The Technology team at the club is responsible for IT (Infrastructure & Operations, AV & Broadcast, Networks), Business Systems and Digital Products across the organisation.

The Head of Digital Products will play a critical role in the digital growth of the Club where you will have the opportunity to lead and craft amazing product experiences for our supporters. You will be a key decision maker and the go to expert for our digital platforms and operations. You will own the delivery of the Club’s digital products, ensuring seamless, elegant functionality and experiences that are aligned to our Technology, Commercial and Growth strategies. These experiences will stretch across all our digital and physical touchpoints, enhancing supporter interaction on our web, app, and mobile platforms as well as at our physical locations such as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, our Training Centre, and retail warehouse & shops.

You will have exceptional product vision and the ability to oversee product development through its design, build, test and iterate phases. You will be adept at balancing strategic planning and change management and are willing to roll up your sleeves to drive delivery and results. You will have strong experience writing user stories, managing product lifecycles and roadmaps, have deep analytical aptitude, and be adept at transforming business requirements into exceptional product deliverables. You will be instrumental in shaping and creating engaging experiences for our global fanbase. You will champion an agile, insight-driven approach to product development, provide strategic direction to the Club and ultimately drive and own the vision for building and delivering products that our supporters love.

You will form part of the Digital Leadership team and provide direction across multiple project teams and stakeholders across the Club.

Due to the nature of the industry, some out of hours working, including weekends, may be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the Club’s product vision and roadmap, leading development strategy to align with Club goals and commercial priorities
  • Own the definition, development and implementation of new products and features – lead requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, managing backlog and sprint plans across product design resources, external development teams, internal business solutions and user acceptance testing
  • Establish best-in-class project management frameworks which encompass discovery, design, GTM product introduction, product adoption and growth, and product sunsets
  • Partner with Product Analytics team to derive insights that inform crucial product decisions
  • Conduct user research and usability studies to identify opportunities for new and existing features and improved functionality
  • Partner with leads in Marketing, Commercial, Brand, Growth, and Supporter Services to align the product roadmap and prioritisation with commercial activities
  • Collaborate with Growth Marketing team to ensure platforms are fit for purpose and provide the most effective conduits for user acquisition strategies and commercial aims
  • Manage and coach a team across product management and digital operations
  • Create clear lines of ownership and accountability and be responsible for your team’s professional development.
  • Support the Club in achieving it’s overall objectives, including EDI
  • Responsible for supplier contracting and management. Ensuring they maintain a high standard of delivery, commitment, and quality.
  • Manage backlog prioritisation and lead the product vision towards completion
  • Manage the Digital Products capital & operating budgets ensuring business cases/ROI for new product innovation.
  • Identify opportunities to apply digital innovation across the Club’s entire product suite
  • Ensure roadmap is in continuous alignment with the Club’s data & business systems strategy
  • Introduce and maintain consistent UX/UI framework across all digital touchpoints
  • Collaborate with Digital Leadership colleagues to create and establish a new digital culture that champions data driven, and customer insight led decision making.
  • Deeply understand and embody the voice of the supporter

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in product management in the sports, media, or entertainment industries
  • A passion for product, technology, sports, and entertainment – this passion is crucial as it forms the core of what we’re trying to achieve
  • Proven track record influencing and working with decision makers to drive strategy
  • Demonstrated success delivering digital projects across web, app and driving product innovations from execution to delivery.
  • An excellent verbal and written communicator able to lead cross-functional discussions and collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. You can engage constructively in debate and discussion with your colleagues and peers.
  • A natural leader, able to conceptualise, articulate and champion digital & technology strategies
  • You have a high level of intellectual curiosity and are passionate about all aspects of our business on and off the pitch
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, multifaceted environment and ambiguous problem spaces
  • Hands-on attitude and high attention to detail
