Role Purpose
As we prepare for opening the venue, we’re looking for a Head of Facilities to join our Operations team. The Head of Facilities will lead on and develop implementation of an outstanding facilities strategy.
You will deliver the ultimate fan experience, leading your team to provide the best exemplary facilities service, creating the most unforgettable music and entertainment experience for fans and artists coming to Manchester.
Role Responsibilities
  • Take charge of the development and delivery of an effective and efficient building services management and maintenance strategy, including a compliant and robust Planned Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Manage the procurement, performance and continuous review of contracted services ensuring they deliver the best standards and meet our service level agreements.
  • Lead and collaborate in multi-disciplinary and cross functional project teams to deliver specific projects and programmes of activities.
  • Bring together the skills and experience needed to deliver a wide range of shared initiatives and objectives.
  • Ensure effective allocation of expenditure for reactive repairs and maintenance, that’s within budget and timescales with an effective and efficient maintenance schedule.
  • Develop a Capital Expenditure process that will be used to prioritise and approve all capital projects for the arena.
  • Champion and drive operational excellence and organise a regular housekeeping programme to maintain the premises to the highest possible standards, including a longer-term maintenance plan.
  • Be an excellent leader injecting positivity and passion into the team, creating opportunities for development, supporting people to be their best and supporting a high performing work environment.
  • Build strong, positive, engaging working relationships with the Venue Management team to successfully deliver the operational requirements for events and private hires, specifically in relation to Show Power and Mechanical requirements.
  • You will know your budget, manage it, set it, and re-forecast all events expenses and costs.

  • Management experience with direct P&L responsibility
  • Strategic thinker, experience of converting strategy into detailed operational plans
  • Outstanding project management skills, meticulously well organised and with a drive for results
  • Positive relationship building with police and professional bodies
  • Results focused, driving exceptional results through your team and others
  • Drive strong performance
Desirable
  • A relevant Building Services Qualification, e.g. electrical or mechanical qualification such as IWFM Level 5 Certificate in Facilities Management
  • Other relevant training, licences and certification are advantageous, such as NEBOSH (or equivalent), IOSH, PRINCE2 Project Management.
