Co-op Live are recruiting for a talented Head of Health & Safety to join the operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take control and lead on creating a safety first culture in a brand new arena. You will be developing new processes, policies and ways of working from scratch, driving incredible performance through team training so we stand out from the crowd. This role is pivotal in keeping everyone safe and creating an awesome experience for our people, fans and artists.

Our Role

  • Support the Operations Director and Heads of departments in the development of a robust Health & Safety strategy which puts our fans, artists, colleagues, and community first.
  • Take charge so the venue and its facilities are maintained in a safe, reliable, efficient and effective way
  • Shaping and executing effective safety management
  • Design and deliver the training material for all operational colleagues
  • Drive operational excellence, developing positive health and safety culture in all departments through the implementation of processes and policies
  • To have a genuine passion for creating a planet friendly space, challenging the norm, driving positive change, and acting as an ambassador for change to help us reach out target of carbon neutral by 2038
  • Champion KPIs being monitored, and contracts are commercially beneficial and provide exceptional service
  • Collaborate, lead, and directly manage any third-party service contracts to deliver an outstanding venue
  • Lead and collaborate in multi-disciplinary and cross functional project teams to deliver specific projects and programmes of activities
  • Bring together the skills and experience needed to deliver a wide range of shared initiatives and objectives
  • NEBOSH or relevant H&S Qualification
  • Level 4 Spectator safety management qualification
  • Deliver training to operational teams to ensure we stand out from the crowd
  • Health & Safety Management experience within a large entertainment venue or crowded space
  • An infectious can-do approach to provide the UK’s best venue through a H&S lens
  • Thrive when its buzzing and show resilience, taking control, making decisions, and leading from the front
  • A team player who enjoys working in a high achieving environment
  • Experience leading Health & safety in a public-facing venue and ensuring it’s a safe and well-maintained operation
  • Outstanding project management skills, meticulously well organised and with a drive for results
  • Effective collaborator, able to work with colleagues across the organisation to design and embed systems and processes which meet our needs
  • Positive relationship building with third parties and professional bodies
  • Drive strong performance

Knowledge, Skills & experience

  • NEBOSH or relevant H&S qualification
