The former Bradford Odeon, a 1930s art-deco over 3,000 capacity super cinema, will re-open as Bradford Live. Bringing music, comedy, conference and banqueting to a newly refurbished building under the approving gaze of City Hall and City Park. The city centre music venue which will be ideally placed to compliment West Yorkshire’s event venues market, housing multiple stand-alone event spaces all in one city centre building including the magnificent, fully restored Ballroom. 
The development is being managed by the Bradford Live redevelopment team and the NEC Group (the UK’s leading live events business) and when open is expected to attract 300,000 visitors each year. The venue will host a calendar of 200+ world class music, comedy and family entertainment events as well as providing the city with great conference, meeting and banqueting spaces.
You
To the person with the right amount of passion and experience in the live events business, this is an exciting opportunity to build and lead a team as we move towards Bradford Live’s launch in 2024. You will be joining us in advance of opening the doors to the public, so from the very beginning you will be taking the lead role in planning and mobilising the venues Marketing, PR & Ticketing Team.
An individual that can develop a highly effective and motivated team to deliver the marketing and communications for Bradford Live, focusing on driving awareness of the venue and event programme, maximising ticket sales and promoter spend.
You will have the unique opportunity in building the venue’s strategic vision in conjunction with the wider Senior Management Team.
Key Responsibilities (full role profile available on request)
  • Ownership of the event marketing life cycle – from announcement through to the event day – driving commercial opportunities and an enhanced customer experience, including reacting and adapting to last minute changes.
  • Responsible for delivering the marketing and communication plans targeting B2B audiences, driving leads and enquiries for conferencing and banqueting, premium experiences, and partnership opportunities.
  • Line management of the Event Marketing Manager and Ticketing Manager to drive ticket sales and share of house for The Ticket Factory.
  • Develop and manage relationships with promoters and organisers, developing and driving key marketing campaigns increasing both ticket sales and brand awareness in line with key strategic initiatives.
  • Develop PR and Communication plans that support commercial objectives, strengthen the reputation of the business, and engage internal and external audiences. The plans will include crisis, stakeholder and media relations contact strategies.
  • Creation of PR and Communications campaigns for trade, B2B and B2C audiences to drive brand awareness, ticket sales and reputational benefit.
  • Provide the provision of a press office function, offering advice and support to the business whilst working closely with the Head of PR and Communications at Head Office.
  • Develop press releases to support event activity and drive awareness, ticket sales and engagement.
  • Ownership of the Bradford Live social media channels and associated content strategies.
  • Maintain strong links/relationships with local journalists and media.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Educated to degree level or relevant industry experience.
  • Significant marketing experience in a fast moving, creative environment; including live events would be desirable.
  • Proven PR and Communications experience with a thorough understanding of the media landscape, including social media.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills both internally and externally.
  • Strong copy-writing skills with an outstanding eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Confident in writing and developing compelling copy for marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced and reactive environment to meet deadlines.
