Job Purpose:
o Secure outstanding media coverage in defined sports, business and community media (regional,
national, international) that supports the Club’s sporting, commercial and community aspirations.
o Understand the sporting, political, and corporate landscape, managing key stakeholder groups such
as local residents, politicians and business groups (regionally, nationally and internationally).

o Warwickshire Cricket Foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
o Set the media/communications plan for key business units, to support the annual operating plan.
This will cover sports media (regional and national); business media and relevant trade sectors (eg
conference and events); interaction with Club digital channels (web, app, OTT streaming); key
stakeholder relationships (political and community); crisis management; heritage projects.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with the cricketing and wider sporting press (regional,
national and international) pro-actively ensuring that Warwickshire CCC is seen as one of the
leading Clubs and venues in world cricket.
o Pro-actively come up with creative ideas to secure coverage and new ways of promoting the Club:
supporting others with ideas when developing wider marketing campaigns.
o Manage the press office and press function at all Warwickshire CCC fixtures and act as Press
Officer for Major Match Days held at Edgbaston (eg Test Matches, One-Day Internationals,
Domestic Finals – eg Vitality Blast). This will include attendance at home and away matches, as
part of a rota involving the Media Relations Executive and Digital Media Manager.
o Manage the Media Centre on Major Match Days, in accordance to ECB guidelines.
o Support ticket sales marketing campaigns through strong media exposure.
o Support the Club’s conference and banqueting team by securing positive media exposure (either
directly or through agency support).
o Support the Club’s Community Director and Charitable Foundation by securing positive media
exposure for initiatives.
o Own key political relationships (locally and nationally) with MPs, Councillors and Ministers with an
interest in the region (eg Edgbaston MP) or cricket (eg Julian Knight or Nigel Huddleston).
o Manage the Community Liaison Group, ensuring that the Club has a positive relationship with those
living within a two-mile radius of Edgbaston.
o Advise the Board/Executive Committee on media matters, leading the issues/crisis management
process where appropriate.
o Manage the production of copy for all Club publications and events (eg Annual Yearbook, AGM and
Membership communication).
o Chair the Heritage Committee, recognising the efforts of former players throughout the Club.
o Manage the Club Museum and historic artefacts.
o Ensure that the Club’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is reflected in all media,
stakeholder and digital communication.
