The former Bradford Odeon, a 1930s art-deco over 3,000 capacity super cinema, will re-open as Bradford Live. Bringing music, comedy, conference and banqueting to a newly refurbished building under the approving gaze of City Hall and City Park.

The development is being managed by the Bradford Live redevelopment team and the NEC Group (the UK’s leading live events business) and when open is expected to attract 300,000 visitors each year. The venue will host a calendar of 200+ world class music, comedy and family entertainment events as well as providing the city with great conference, meeting and banqueting spaces.

You

You will be joining us in advance of opening the doors to the public, so from the very beginning you will be taking the lead role in planning and mobilising the venue’s Sales Team.

An individual that can develop a highly effective and motivated sales team to deliver the commercial value for all MICE, local programming, hospitality, premium packages, media and venue partnerships.

You will have the unique opportunity in building the venue’s strategic vision in conjunction with the wider Senior Management Team.

Key Responsibilities (full role profile available on request)

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to maximise the sales performance at Bradford Live.
  • Lead a high performing, motivated sales team to deliver the venue vision. Ensure the team are operating as commercially as possible, with clear accountability and decision-making
  • Working closely with Venue Programming Department (Birmingham) and General Manager to balance the non-auditorium programme on an event-by-event basis to maximise utilisation of the venue diary and ensure the programming mix meets the strategic objectives.
  • To achieve the premium, corporate, banqueting, and local programming sales targets at Bradford Live.
  • To connect with all local stakeholders as the ‘go to” sales representative for the venue.
  • Manage the venue’s hospitality & premium experiences brand and assets to ensure the highest quality product and service is provided to guests.
  • Provide senior leadership support to the Duty Manager on events.
  • Line manage the Sales Manager and Grassroots Sales Executive.
  • Liaise closely with the Head of PR & Marketing to devise and develop cost effective marketing strategies to deliver campaigns to generate revenue streams.
  • Liaise with Bradford City Council and other City key stakeholders for mutual benefit.

 Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience of successfully leading a high performing sales team in a commercial environment.
  • Significant and proven Business to Business (B2B) sales experience, ideally within the corporate or hospitality market.
  • Skilled in identifying new markets and opportunities to generate new leads.
  • Must be able to develop business development plans that can deliver against annual revenue target
  • Commercially sound. Have a positive assertive style, good facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience of producing sales presentations and presenting to senior management.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues, industry peers and clients.
