Role Purpose
As we prepare for opening the venue, we’re looking for a Head of Security to join our Operations team. The Head of Security will lead on and develop an industry leading security strategy, creating an excellent safety culture for our venue.
Delivering the ultimate fan experience, you will lead your team to provide the best exemplary service standards for safety, driving continuous improvement and management of risk; ultimately creating the most unforgettable music and entertainment experience for fans and artists coming to Manchester.
Role Responsibilities
  • Working with the Operations Director and General Manager, developing a robust security strategy providing Incident Management and Business Continuity Planning for Co-op Live.
  • Implement an overall security program for the physical safety of all colleagues and guests, day to day and for all events.
  • Safety First, shaping and executing effective and best in class Incident Management, Contingency and Crisis Communication plans in collaboration with the Operations Director and Head of Venue Management.
  • Build strong, positive, engaging partnerships with the Venue Management team, Contractors, Emergency Services, other Law Enforcement Departments and Agencies, Local Government and Transport Services providers on operational and security matters.
  • Create a safety-first culture, lead the ongoing process of integrating and embedding a security risk consciousness into the Co-op Live culture, enhancing processes used to analyse business strategies and initiatives.
  • Maintain a successful command and control function with integrated and effective procedures and communication.
  • Work with the Venue Management team to successfully deliver the security requirements for each event and private hires, specifically in relation to threat assessment, resourcing, training and auditing.
  • Know your budget, manage it, set it, and re-forecast all events expenses and costs.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Significant experience within a corporation and/or law enforcement, military, intelligence, or private security organisation
  • Experience managing large scale Event Security in a stadium or concert setting of a similar size
  • Experience in development of Emergency Evacuation Planning, Policies and Procedures
  • A great leader who can influence and inspire others
  • People manager – up to 10 direct reports, putting people first
  • An infectious can-do approach
  • Results focused, driving exceptional results through your team and others
  • Thrive when its buzzing and show resilience, taking control, making decisions, and leading from the front
  • A team player who enjoys working in a high achieving environment
  • Strategic thinker, experience of converting strategy into detailed operational plans and supporting the teams on delivery of the projects / plans.
  • Extensive expertise of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems
  • Results focused, working in a busy high paced environment, planning, and delivering a variety of events
  • Management of budgets
  • Outstanding project management skills, meticulously well organised and with a drive for results
  • Positive relationship building with police, law enforcement, government agencies, and other partners and professional bodies
Desirable
  • A relevant Security and/or Counter Terrorism qualification such as ‘Advanced University Diploma In Counter Terrorism Risk Management’
  • Other relevant training, licences and certification are advantageous, such as NEBOSH (or equivalent), IOSH, L4 NVQ in Spectator Safety
