The AMB Sports & Entertainment Security Manager will have responsibilities supporting Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta United and the respective training facilities. Key responsibilities include supervisory and direction for the protection, safeguarding, and security of associates, vendor partners, visitors, and company assets of the facilities and teams.  The security manager will continue to improve, develop, implement, and ensure compliance with all security policies, procedures, and programs.  This individual will report to the Vice-President of Security for AMBSE with significant direction from both team and stadium security directors to manage and be responsible for security operations for the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United and other events held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Spearhead and maintain security protocols and procedures for all event and non-event day activates at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and training facilities.
  • Implement venue policies including a goal based objective program for an industry leading security department.
  • Determine changes to the departmental operating structure and/or operations and oversee implementation based on continual evaluation of staff and contracted service providers.
  • Work collaboratively with public safety for work force management and quality assurance.
  • Direct security staff in multiple security core disciplines to: identify potential or existing security risks to the overall organization; research and deploy state of the art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard staff and venue assets; direct the approach, implementation, and execution of investigations and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Demonstrates close relationships with local, state, federal law enforcement, intelligence, and private sector counterparts.
  • Conducts training and briefings for audiences ranging from executive level members to front line associates.
  • Represents the stadium security department in senior and/or executive level corporate, government and industry security working groups.
  • Ensures compliance with league security mandates and protocols.
  • Makes final decision on operational matters and ensures department’s effective achievement of goals.
  • Identifies potential or existing security risks to the overall organization and presents those risks for resolution.
  • Oversight of and decision-making authority of the Emergency Action Plan, the Concept of Operations Plan and Quality Control/Assurance Plan.
  • Establish staff development and training protocols including table top exercises and functional exercises.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of ownership, executives, other departments and vendor partners.
  • Other duties as assigned by the AMBSE Vice-President of Security and Directors
  • Continuously monitor all player and coach areas, including hotel floors, meeting spaces, meal room, training room, and parking areas (team hotel)
  • Liaison with visiting team personal including limited travel with the Atlanta Falcons/ Atlanta United for away games.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

  • Manages through subordinate Managers and Coordinators.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skill and Ability;

  • The position requires strong management, administrative, supervisory, training, presentation, consultant, and facilitator skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed. Ability to communicate effectively with and to Executive Management.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings/nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Skill in assessing security risks and needs.
  • Ability to obtain necessary clearances for review of sensitive material
  • Superior knowledge of technical aspects of security systems (including IP Cameras, door access, fire systems, and human resource scheduling programs).

Education or Formal Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
  • Training relevant to crowd management/crowd control, security systems and emergency preparedness/response.

Experience:

  • 8-10 years’ experience in stadium or public gathering security setting or law enforcement (combination of both preferred).
  • Experience in special event security and public assembly venue security highly desirable.
  • P.O.S.T. Certification or military background (preferred)

Material and Equipment Used:

  • Two-way radio.
  • Proprietary time management and scheduling software.
  • General office equipment to include phone, copier, computer/keyboard, etc.
  • Security equipment to include CCTV, Access Control and Fire Alarm monitoring systems.
