To support our Finance Division, FIFA is looking to recruit a flexible and service-oriented person with the ability to work in a cross-divisional team as an Senior Event Controller, 100%


Your duties


  • Acting as the business partner of the Project Leaders of specific tournaments and events as agreed with the Head of Event Controlling
  • Coordinating all budget owners involved on specific budget areas of specific tournaments and events as agreed with the Head of Event Controlling
  • Supporting all FIFA divisions, FIFA Subsidiaries and the Local Organising Committees involved in tournaments in the establishment of their budget and forecasts across all tournaments and events
  • Being the first point of contact for the Local Organising Committee or the FIFA Subsidiary of a specific Tournament for all budget matters
  • Participating in the review of the budget assumptions on a yearly, quarterly and ad hoc basis
  • Ensuring that all FIFA Finance requirements are met
  • Checking the proper booking of invoices of the FIFA expenditures related to tournaments and events
  • Preparing and maintaining financial reporting for budget owners, project leaders and management on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Analysing the actual costs of the tournaments and events against the budgets of the FIFA divisions and the FIFA subsidiaries
  • Performing ad hoc analyses and tasks as requested by the Head of Event Controlling or senior management


Our requirements


  • University degree or equivalent business education
  • Minimum five years of experience in financial function (ideally controlling)
  • Previous experience in an event organization in a financial role (organizing major sport events or other similar projects)
  • Experience in procurement and budgeting processes favourable
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of any of the other three FIFA languages (German, French or Spanish) an asset
  • Very good MS Office skills with expertise in MS Excel. Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  • Very good analytical skills
  • Ability to work well independently and with discretion where necessary
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Reliable team-player
  • Identification with FIFA and Football in general
