Set to become the biggest live entertainment arena in the UK, Co-op Live are looking for an experienced Senior Venue Manager to join our awesome events team working directly with the Head of Venue Management.

You will play a key role developing outstanding venue management and production processes.  The events team will champion all venue management activity including the development & implementation of policy, procedures, regulatory and industry requirements to create an amazing experience for all fans.

The Role:

– To support and manage an exceptional fan experience, through the development and management of the end to end event planning process, making sure we adhere to our licensing conditions, venue policy and internal ways of working.
– Be proactive, think outside the box and challenge how we do things, you will manage events across the arena to the best standards.
– Alongside the Head of Venue Management, champion and drive operational excellence through regular review of the operations manual, promptly updating to ensure it aligns with existing methods of management as per the premises license.
– In the absence of the Head of Venue Management, chair weekly arena event meetings with a ‘how can we do it’ approach, not shying away from challenges but embracing new ideas and ways of working which supports us in driving effective agenda outcomes.
– Know your budget, manage it, and support the Head of Venue Management to reforecast all events expenses and costs as required.
– Ensure departmental KPI’s are monitored, reported, and reviewed monthly.
– You will develop a detailed understanding of all licensing requirements ensuring delivery of Manchester City Council’s key licensing objectives.
– Support the Head of Venue Management in delivering key event strategies, including security and event management which puts our fans, artists, colleagues, and community first.
– Support the Head of Venue Management with management of third-party service contracts including stewarding, security, medical, fire safety and transport.
– Shaping and executing effective incident management, contingency, and crisis communication plans, working with supporting departments.
– To champion and comply with all health and safety regulations and safe working practices as required by current legislation including the company’s health and safety policy and practices.
– To champion safeguarding approaches, policies and practices creating a safe space for all fans, artists and colleagues.
– To have a genuine passion for creating a planet friendly space, challenging the norm, driving positive change, and acting as an ambassador for change to help us reach out target of carbon neutral by 2038.

Salary: up to £55,000 depending on experience

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

– Be able to demonstrate your experience in managing large events
– Understand entertainment / stadia /arena security and crowd management
– A leader, who can influence and inspire others
– A brilliant people manager, putting people first and supporting others
– An infectious can-do approach to great health and safety management
– Results focused, driving exceptional results through your team and others
– Drive strong performance
– Positive relationship building with police and professional bodies
– Commercially astute with sound financial management skills

Desirable:

– Demonstrate a critical understanding of the Safety at Sports Grounds (Green Guide) Guidance
– Ideally hold H&S Qualification/s such as NEBOSH General Certificate, NVQ Level 5 Occupational H&S, NVQ L4 Spectator Safety
