UCLA basketball facility to feature state-of-the-art skylights

UCLA

The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in the US has announced that its new basketball training facility will feature specialist skylight technology from Vector Foiltec.

UCLA said Texlon ETFE will “create a perfect atmosphere” in the centre, which will be used by players in its men's and women's basketball teams, as well as other athletic programmes at the university. The facility will feature gyms, locker rooms and training areas.

Vector Foiltec said lightweight Texlon ETFE lets in the right amount of sunlight for players using the facility, creating a “sustainable, cost efficient transparent building envelope”.

The firm has worked on a host of other sports-related projects, most recently the 240,000 square foot transparent roof at the US Bank Stadium, the new home of NFL American football franchise the Minnesota Vikings.
