Panasonic to enhance fan experience at LAFC stadium

Japanese electronics company Panasonic has agreed a deal to become an official launch partner of the Banc of California Stadium, the future home of Major League Soccer expansion franchise Los Angeles FC.

Panasonic will also serve as the digital solutions provider for the 22,000-seat venue, which is due to open in time for LAFC’s MLS debut in 2018.

LAFC said the partnership will result in the Banc of California Stadium becoming the most technologically advanced venue in MLS.

Over 15,000 square feet of LED video display signage will be fitted to enhance the fan experience both inside the stadium and in the surrounding entertainment district, a $350m (£280m/€329m) complex that will also include a large community plaza, restaurants and retail outlets.

The stadium’s main video board will measure approximately 129ft wide by 29ft high and will feature 16mm SMD LED video technology to allow for high-resolution viewing clarity.

LAFC was formed in October 2014 and lists actor Will Ferrell and former NBA basketball star Magic Johnson among its financial backers.
