Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise the Texas Rangers has expanded a partnership with Globe Life to enable the insurance company to acquire the naming rights to the team’s new ballpark.

Due to open in April 2020, the venue will be known as Global Life Field until at least 2048, after Globe Life agreed to a long-term deal.

The company already serves as the naming rights partner for the team’s current Globe Life Park home in Arlington, and will continue to do so until the Rangers relocate to the new facility next door.

Globe Life will also retain its role as the official life and health insurance company of the team.

In addition, in November of last year,Globe Life took on the naming rights to the new Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy at Mercy Sports Complex. The facility, which features housing, fields, classrooms and weight and training rooms, is now known as the Globe Life Training Center.

“Globe Life has been an outstanding partner over the last four years, and the Rangers are excited that this relationship will continue long into the future,” Rangers co-chairman and managing partner Ray Davis said.

“We thank Globe Life for their commitment as the naming rights partner for the beautiful new Globe Life Field and for being a leader in its community efforts with our youth.”

Bill Leavell, president and chief executive of Globe Life Direct Response, added: “We’ve seen positive results from our Globe Life Park partnership. It’s extremely exciting to be a part of the game plan for Globe Life Field and to continue supporting the outstanding work carried out for children through the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

“On behalf of our 1,500 McKinney-based employees and nearly 400,000 Texas policyholders, we look forward to the opening of Globe Life Field’s state-of-the-art facility.”
