English Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur has secured approval to increase the size of it new home stadium from 61,559 to 62,062.
According to the Press Association news agency, the additional 503 seats are a result of Haringey Council giving the go-ahead to amended plans and the venue, due for completion ahead of the 2018-19 season, will now be able to welcome more fans.
The new facility will be the second largest stadium in London behind West Ham United’s multi-use London Stadium, and the largest football-specific ground in the English capital.
Confirming the news on Twitter, Spurs said: “We are pleased to confirm that @haringeycouncil has approved our application to increase the capacity of #SpursNewStadium.
“This will now see our official stadium capacity rise from 61,559 to 62,062.”
