Wycombe eyes new revenue streams with MJB Entertainment Group

English Championship football club Wycombe Wanderers has partnered with MJB Entertainment Group to provide “first-class” entertainment and services for events at its Adams Park stadium.

MJB will work with Wycombe on a diverse range of public events at the 10,000-seat stadium as the club looks to open up new revenue streams and welcome new audiences in what will mark its first-ever season in the second tier of English football.

MJB is based locally and will kick off its partnership with Wycombe by hosting a Lifestyle Show at Adams Park on Monday, with the event set to welcome around 100 different stallholders to showcase products and services in the stadium car park.

MJB owner Bill Blenkarn said: “It’s an exciting time for both ourselves and for Wycombe Wanderers, and we’re really looking forward to planning many spectacular events at Adams Park which will help to get the local entertainment and hospitality industries booming again after the challenges of COVID-19.

“We have used the past few months to develop what we believe is an innovative and prosperous business plan which will bring plenty of benefits, most notably being the development of Adams Park as a fantastic venue for live events of many different kinds.

“The Lifestyle Show will give a sense of what’s to come and it would be great to see as many local people as possible at Adams Park as we give local businesses the chance to promote their offerings and help them get back on their feet after a tough few months.”

Neil Peters, Wycombe’s chief commercial officer, added: “We have been extremely impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm of Bill and his team, who share our vision of attracting people from all over the country to Adams Park on non-match days for both public and private events.

“We know that Adams Park is a fantastic venue in terms of its locality to major motorways and airports, its large car park and rooms overlooking the pitch and countryside, and we are also excited by developments this summer which will result in major improvements to the Wi-Fi and audio-visual equipment in each lounge.

“MJB Entertainment Ltd will help us maximise the potential of the stadium and its car park and generate more revenue opportunities away from football matches. It’s a pleasure to welcome Bill and his team into the club and we look forward to kicking off the partnership with the Lifestyle Show on Monday.”

Last month, Wycombe teamed up with Landways to build and operate a new digital infrastructure at Adams Park as it looks to modernise the match-day experience following promotion. The new digital infrastructure at Adams Park will initially be used to support a high-density, stadium-wide Wi-Fi system.
