U.S. Bank Stadium offers insight into gameday preparations with new tour experience

U.S. Bank Stadium has launched a new, specialised tour program which aims to provide a “incredibly unique opportunity” to gain insight into preparations for the games of its home NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Dubbed the Ultimate Touchdown Tour, the new offering will be provided on select dates just prior to Vikings home games, starting on August 19 ahead of the pre-season fixture against the San Francisco 49ers.

The tour will feature views of the Vikings Locker Room being set for gameday, broadcast spaces being prepared for media operations, and never-before-seen views of one of the most luxury private bars inside U.S. Bank Stadium.

Ending the two-hour guided tour, priced at $99 (£81/€97) per person, is a chance to play on the turf, get photos on the 50-yard-line, and “score the ultimate touchdown” in the purple endzones with family and friends.

The Ultimate Touchdown Tour aims to capture the excitement of gameday, while also showcasing the features and behind the scenes looks at the stadium art collection, press level, and premium areas such as clubs and suites.

John Drum, U.S. Bank Stadium general manager, told TheStadiumBusiness.com: “Our team has tailored the tour route and timing to ensure the best experience for our guests and our vendors and stadium partners.

“U.S. Bank Stadium hosts hundreds of events per year and this planning and flexibility to transform spaces so quickly has made it possible for us to provide experiences such as this.

“U.S. Bank Stadium currently offers a few options for tours, including public tours, private and group tours, and educational tours related to stadium-management careers paths and sustainability initiatives.

“Our original 90-minute guided tour includes highlights of the premium clubs and suites, the stadium art collection, and shares historical, architectural and operational facts. We’re excited to expand the current program to offer guests a deeper look into stadium operations.”

Located in downtown Minneapolis, U.S. Bank Stadium opened as the new home of the Vikings in 2016. With the NFL stadium landscape constantly evolving, and a number of significant projects currently in the works, Drum said of the long-term plans for the facility: “ASM Global, together with the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, the Minnesota Vikings, Aramark, and all stadium partners are constantly working to forecast and plan for improvements for U.S. Bank Stadium to remain best-in-class.

“Our long-term plans are focused on several areas of facility maintenance and operations with a common goal to provide the best in guest experience.”
