Reusable products brand Re-uz has been announced as an official supporter of next year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

As part of the deal, Re-uz will provide reusable and environmentally responsible cups and food containers during the Games. The agreement ties in with organisers’ plans to implement circular economy initiatives at the event.

Re-uz, which is part of the Impact Group, will set up a deposit system at venues to promote the return of reusable cups and containers. The company will also oversee logistical support, delivery and washing of all containers.

Philippe Berthe, chief executive of Re-uz, said: “We are very proud to be associated with the biggest sporting event in the world. This represents a unique opportunity to be able to demonstrate our know-how.

“This partnership is part of a global goal for us: to raise awareness of the ecological impact of sporting events and to support as many people as possible towards re-employment.”

Paris 2024 president Tony Estanguet added: “We are happy to welcome Re-uz to the team of official supporters of Paris 2024. Since the start of the project, we have wanted to promote a new model of events, more responsible, particularly from the point of view of respect for the environment.

“By offering reuse solutions during the Paris 2024 Games and helping to ensure that these ways of doing things continue during future sporting events, the partnership with Re-uz brings this ambition to life in a very concrete way.”

As an official supporter of Paris 2024, Re-uz will sit on the third tier of the event’s sponsorship tree below the top-tier premium partners and second-tier official partners.
