The athletics department at Pennsylvania State University has announced plans to install a tunnel club at Beaver Stadium, the second largest stadium in the US.

The exclusive space will debut in time for the 2023 season and will be located in the south tunnel of the 106,000-capacity stadium, home of the Penn State Nittany Lions college football team. It will feature two members-only spaces, with exclusive membership priced at $10,000 (£8,000/€9,300) annually.

A limited number of memberships will be made available, with members to be allowed a total of four passes per event. Additionally, the tunnel club will be open to members for five additional dates per year such as football away game weekends, select Penn State Athletics home games, graduation weekends, ArtsFest, and other university and special events.

Perks of the tunnel club membership will include behind-the-scenes views of the team taking the field, an open bar, complimentary food and snacks, private restrooms, and access to an exclusive Wi-Fi network.

It is hoped the experience will further enhance Beaver Stadium’s status as one of the leading college football venues in the US.

Beaver Stadium is one of the world’s biggest sports venues and the second largest in the US, behind the 107,600-capacity Michigan Stadium.

The tunnel club experience is separate to a major renovation project at Beaver Stadium that was announced in February. Penn State Athletics said the upgrades would form part of a multi-phase renovation, with the project also including the potential to expand Beaver Stadium’s use beyond game days.
