Singapore is set to host its first ONE Championship bout in months with the mixed martial arts series having decamped to Bangkok for much of 2023.

Singapore Indoor Stadium – the series’ spiritual home – will stage ONE Fight Night 14 on September 30, which features the fight between Thailand’s Stamp Fairtex and South Korea’s Ham Seo Hee. The event is scheduled for 8am on the Saturday in order to accommodate the Friday night audience in North America.

“I love throwing events in Singapore because the crowd is always so full of energy. This upcoming card is also absolute fire,” ONE Championship chief executive and chairman Chatri Sityodtong told the South China Morning Post.

ONE Championship has put on over 40 events at the 12,000-capacity Singapore Indoor Stadium since staging the promotion’s inaugural event back in 2011.

The last event to take place in Singapore was ONE Fight Night 8 in March. Last year, ONE Championship hosted 13 events at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, but Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium has emerged as the promotion’s new base in 2023 with fight cards taking place five times per month in Thailand’s capital.

This year the promotion also went to the US for the first time as it held its first card outside of Asia. ONE Fight Night 10 was held at the at the 1stBank Center in Denver, Colorado in May.

ONE Championship is believed to be targeting its first show in Doha for November after signing an MOU with Qatar to continue its expansion into the Middle East.
