Indian real estate developer Omaxe Group has presented plans for the country’s first integrated sports, retail, cultural, food and hospitality complex.
Dubbed The Omaxe State, the complex will be built on a 50.4 acre site in Dwarka, New Delhi. The Sports District component will include a stadium seating 30,000-plus that will be developed to International Cricket Council (ICC) and FIFA standards.
A 2,000-seat indoor sports arena will be developed, along with a 75,000 square foot esports arena. The Sports District will also include an Olympic-size swimming pool, a trampoline park and facilities for rock climbing and surfing.
The Omaxe State will include five districts in total. The Shopping District will boast over 4.25 km of shop frontage, along with a cinema, six terrace garden restaurants and a café. The Social District will feature an outdoor piazza designed to accommodate 8,000 to 10,000 people.
While a Food District is also part of the plans, the Hospitality District will include two banquet halls with a 3,000-person capacity, along with party lawns that can accommodate up to 2,000 guests. Sports facilities will include volleyball, futsal, tennis, and basketball courts, as well as squash courts and a billiards room. Additionally, the adjoining hotel will feature a gymnasium with a boxing ring.
Set to be developed under a public-private partnership model with the Delhi Development Authority, Omaxe said INR25bn (£227m/€269.7m/$297.8m) will be invested in the project, with an expected completion by 2027.
Mohit Goel, managing director of Omaxe Group, added: “With ‘The Omaxe State,’ we aim to provide Delhiites with an international-level experience right here in their own city.
“This development will bridge a significant gap in Delhi’s infrastructure by offering a world-class venue for sports, shopping, and entertainment. We are thrilled to contribute to the city’s growth and elevate its profile with this unique five-in-one destination.”
