Greensboro Coliseum Complex has secured the first naming rights deal in its 65-year history, with regional financial services company First Horizon rebranding the facility.
The 10-year contract worth a basic $1m (£762,500/€911,000) per year, according to the Greensboro News & Record, sees the Complex become the First Horizon Coliseum.
First Horizon agreed the deal with the City of Greensboro, owner of the venue, and Oak View Group (OVG), which assumed management and operations rights on July 1. The arena at the centre of the North Carolina facility has a capacity of 22,000.
Greensboro Mayor, Nancy Vaughan, said in a statement: “We are grateful to Oak View Group, who, in their first year of operating our beautiful facilities, helped us attract and secure First Horizon as the first naming rights partner in the venue’s 65-year history.
“With Oak View Group as our operator and First Horizon as our naming rights partner, the First Horizon Coliseum is poised to be a top entertainment destination and a tremendous asset for our community that will continue to attract events that generate millions of dollars in economic impact for our region.”
