Stadion Śląski, a 54,000-capacity stadium in the Polish city of Chorzów, has signed a naming-rights deal with online car retailer Superauto.
The stadium will be officially rebranded as the Superauto(.)pl Stadion Śląski. Superauto is also headquartered in Chorzów.
Stadion Śląski is the second largest stadium in Poland, after PGE Narodowy in Warsaw. The stadium hosts matches played by the Polish national football team, and was also a venue during the 2023 European Games.
The naming-rights deal will run for an initial three years and includes the option for two further years. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Kamil Makula, president of Superauto, said: “Stadion Śląski is known not only to every resident of Silesia, but also to every Pole who has been here in person to an important sporting event or concert, or watched broadcasts of these events on TV.
“Thanks to the concluded sponsorship agreement, Superauto will become a company recognised throughout Poland. In this way, we will strengthen our position as a leader in the modern car sales market.”
In May 2019, mining company Polska Grupa Górnicza agreed a deal to acquire naming rights for Stadion Śląski, but the partnership was not signed off.
