Amalie Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightning, has become the first NHL venue to join the hospitality arm of Oak View Group (OVG).
Vinik Sports Group (VSG), owner of the Lightning and leaseholder of Amalie Arena, has agreed a multi-year strategic partnership with OVG Hospitality to enhance the fan experience at the 19,092-seat venue, which first opened in 1996.
OVG Hospitality replaces long-time partner Delaware North following a comprehensive request for proposal process that invited several leading concessionaires to participate in a months-long evaluation. VSG said it selected OVG for its innovative approach to concessions, leadership in premium hospitality experiences, and vision for long-term growth.

“Our long-standing relationship with OVG gives us confidence in this partnership’s ability to further elevate our food and beverage offerings, and we are excited to work together to bring a diverse mix of fresh, innovative culinary experiences to hockey games, concerts and events.”
While Amalie Arena is the first NHL venue to join OVG Hospitality, Oak View Group itself has ownership interest in two other facilities – Climate Pledge Arena, home of the Seattle Kraken, and UBS Arena, which hosts the New York Islanders.
The transition to OVG Hospitality will begin immediately. OVG’s contract, which will also include strategic, design, and operational support from its luxury, London-based catering subsidiary, Rhubarb Hospitality Collection, officially begins on July 1.

In February, OVG was announced as the exclusive food and beverage provider for Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
Earlier this week, City Football Group (CFG) and OVG announced the launch of a new joint venture to create a fully integrated service and operations company. CFG already has close links to OVG, with the two companies serving as joint venture partners for the development of Co-op Live arena, which opened in Manchester last year.
Co-op Live sits on the Etihad Campus, which also includes Etihad Stadium, home of Premier League club Manchester City. The new joint venture, dubbed Eastlands Venue Services, will begin by operating catering services at Etihad Stadium and Co-op Live.
