NFL American football franchise the Cincinnati Bengals will trial the use of metal detector technology at its first home game of the season on Sunday.
The Cincinnati Business Courier newspaper reported that three walk-through metal detectors would be in operation at Paul Brown Stadium for the Bengals’ game against the Denver Broncos.
The technology will be used at the Gate A, Gate F and West Club entrances, with hand-held metal detectors to be used at the other entrances as normal.
Last year, the NFL Committee on Stadium Security ruled that all teams must install walk-through metal detector technology by 2017.
Sunday’s game, which pits the Bengals against defending Super Bowl champions the Broncos, is a sell-out.
