St Helens' ground renamed the Totally Wicked Stadium

Langtree Park, the home ground of English Super League rugby league club St Helens, is to be renamed the Totally Wicked Stadium.

The name change comes after St Helens agreed an expanded partnership with sponsor Totally Wicked, a manufacturer of e-cigarettes. The five-year deal covers the 2017 to 2021 seasons and the club claims it is the largest sponsorship agreement in its history.

The rebrand will come into effect at the end of the year, when St Helens’ existing naming-rights agreement with stadium developer Langtree comes to an end.

Totally Wicked has held naming rights to Langtree Park’s North Stand since 2013 and has served as a shirt sponsor since 2014. The company will retain its branding space on the club’s jerseys as part of the continued agreement.

E-cigarettes are permitted at Langtree Park, a decision St Helens took after careful consideration of the latest government-backed evidence, which states that vaping does not undermine the smoking ban. The club said there is no evidence of harm to fellow supporters from second-hand vapour produced by e-cigarettes.

“Totally Wicked has been a loyal and valuable supporter and sponsor of Saints for the last four years,” St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus said. “For the club, this new increased sponsorship deal was a natural development of an already established relationship that has been of tremendous benefit to the club, not just financially, but also in supporting our wider health objectives.”
