ASM Global has entered into a strategic partnership with the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports to enhance existing operations and event activity at the Kuala Lumpur Sports City precinct.
The agreement ties in with the Malaysian government’s plans to develop the precinct into a world-class destination for hosting sports, entertainment and community events.
The deal, which includes the 87,400-seat Malaysia National Stadium, also expands ASM Global’s footprint in Asia. The stadium is the largest in Asia outside of North Korea and is now the largest stadium in ASM Global’s worldwide portfolio.
ASM Global will implement its latest technology and food and beverage offerings at the precinct. ASM Global will also partner with Malaysian company Sportswork Sdn Bhd to deliver services to Kuala Lumpur Sports City.
ASM Global will work with the Malaysian government via Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM), which manages and maintains the complexes and sports venues that have been assigned by the Youth & Sports Ministry.

ASM Global’s portfolio of facilities in the region also includes the under-construction Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong, Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, among others.
In August last year, ASM Global was appointed as the main operator for two venues within a planned mixed-use destination in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The 20,000-seat Jeddah Arena and the International Convention Centre Jeddah will form part of the Airport City project, which will be based adjacent to the King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah.
