Builder handed task of completing Dunkin’ Donuts Park

A contractor has been selected to complete the unfinished Dunkin’ Donuts Park baseball stadium in New York state after the original developers were fired.

DoNo LLC and Centerplan were dismissed during the summer after failing to complete the 6,000-seat venue on time. The new home of the Hartford Yard Goats Minor League Baseball team was meant to be completed ahead of the start of the 2016 Eastern League season in April.

Arch Insurance, which covered the development, announced that it had chosen Baltimore-based Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. to complete the stadium.

According to the Fox 61 news website, the issues that need resolving include exposed piping and plumbing to concrete that was laid incorrectly and is already cracking or damaged.

“The completion of Dunkin’ Donuts Park is a complex project and a lot of work remains to be done but we look forward to working closely with the City of Hartford, the Eastern League, and the Yard Goats to bring baseball to Hartford in April 2017,” said Patrick K. Nails, Arch senior vice-president.
