Rupp Arena $15m upgrade finished

The Kentucky Wildcats NBA basketball team's Rupp Arena has unveiled a new giant video display as part of a $15m (£12.0m/€13.5m) upgrade,

The 23,000-seat arena in Lexington will now benefit from a Daktronics centre-hung video array, an L-Acoustic sound system, and energy efficient LED fixtures for basketball events.

A competition has been launched among fans to name the new giant screen.

The upgrades were announced by Bill Owen, chief executive and president of the Lexington Center, who said: “All of the pieces are state of the art. They are really going to change the game time and event time environment for Rupp Arena.”

Rupp Arena will also have Wi-Fi available to visitors in the spring of 2017.
