Arenafoods Catering lands contract for 2018 World Cup

Arenafoods Catering lands contract for 2018 World CupMoscow-based Arenafoods Catering has been named as the public food and beverage concessionaire for football’s 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia and the 2017 Confederations Cup in the same country.

The project will include around 400 concessions or more than 2,200 points of sale across 12 venues, creating approximately 8,000 jobs for the World Cup. Around 86 concessions and 3,000 jobs will be created for the Confederations Cup.

Arenafoods was chosen following an international public tender process that included applications from 15 Russia-based food and beverage companies.

The concessionaire programme will be responsible for overseeing food and beverage catering for ticket-holders at the World Cup and Confederations Cup. The in-stadium menu will offer typical Russian food and also cater for supporters from around the world.

“Providing football fans with a world-class in-stadium experience is critical to Fifa and the local organising committee,” Fifa’s commercial chief officer, Philippe Le Floc’h, said. “A top-quality food and beverage programme is a vital component of the stadium experience and we are thrilled to have such a reputable partner in Arenafoods to provide this service.

“The size and scale of the public food and beverage programme for the 2018 Fifa World Cup and the Fifa Confederations Cup 2017 is significant and we are confident that Arenafoods will provide an interesting menu and deliver a successful operation to football fans from around the world.”

Arenafoods currently holds exclusive catering rights at Spartak Stadium, home of Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow and one of the host venues for the World Cup.
