Italian Serie A football club SPAL has been cleared to return to the Stadio Paolo Mazza following renovation work at the venue.
The Ferrara-based stadium underwent redevelopment work in the summer to increase its capacity from 13,020 to 16,000.
SPAL was forced to play its opening home match of the season, a 1-0 win over Parma, at Bologna’s Stadio Dall’Ara.
The club will now return to the Stadio Paolo Mazza on Monday night after receiving the all-clear from the Commissione Provinciale di Vigilianza to reopen the venue.
Prior to the summer of 2017, the Stadio Paolo Mazza had a capacity of just 7,000, with €4.6m having been set aside to transform it into a 13,020-seat stadium.
SPAL has enjoyed a good start to the Serie A season and sits fourth in the table after three games.
