Espanyol signs deal to bring concerts to stadium

Spanish LaLiga football club RCD Espanyol has struck an agreement with concert promoter Produceme to open up its RCDE Stadium to more music events.

Espanyol said the stadium, which has a capacity of 40,000, is expected to host “world-class” music shows from this spring.

Produceme will be responsible for marketing music events at the stadium during the coming months. It is expected that the majority of the events would be held during the summer after the football season has ended.

The club struck a similar agreement with the Set Me Free promoter back in 2016. That agreement saw the stadium welcome singer Marc Anthony for a gig as part of his European tour. It marked the first music event to be held at the stadium since The Black Eyed Peas performed there in 2010.

Espanyol is currently 12th in LaLiga after 23 games of the 2018-19 season.
