Dundee stadium plans to continue regardless of relegation

Dundee’s owners said they are “fully committed” to the club and its plans to build a new stadium, even if the Scottish Premiership team loses its relegation battle.

John Nelms, Tim Keyes and Football Partners Scotland said they will remain with the club regardless of the league, adding that relegation “would not be a disaster” financially.

The club has plans to leave Dens Park for a new stadium in Camperdown by 2020-21.

A club statement said: “The stadium development has recently gotten back on track.

“Most of the planning work is complete to have the stadium ready to go forward as financing is secured.

“The stadium project will proceed regardless of our league standing and financing is wholly separate from the operations of the club.”

Dundee sit at the bottom of the Premiership with three league games to go.
