Levy UK to ‘overhaul’ catering at Leicester Tigers

English Premiership rugby union club Leicester Tigers has appointed Levy UK as the official caterers at Welford Road Stadium

The partnership is scheduled to kick-off on June 1, with the venue hospitality firm set to overhaul matchday and non-matchday catering operations at the 25,849-capacity stadium.

Tigers said the move to employ Levy UK comes following supporter feedback and forum meetings.

Andrea Pinchen, commercial director at Leicester Tigers, said: “The club is dedicated to improving everything we do, and we know catering is a massive element of many supporters’ matchdays. Levy UK has demonstrated their capabilities over many years, and we’re pleased to have them on board.

“The team share our love and passion for sport, and we know how much the fan experience means to them and this was the key factor in our decision to enter this new and exciting partnership.”

Welford Road has more than 10 bars around the ground and 25 executive boxes in use on matchdays and non-matchdays, including the Final Whistle Bar, The Droglites Bar, The ABC and Crumbie Lounge as well as hospitality areas in The Clubhouse, Try Line Club, Honours and 1880 Suites.

Tigers has introduced self-collection bars and kiosk collection points over the course of the past year, and claims the focus is on improving the fan experience via contactless and bar refurbishments, among other things.

Jon Davies, managing director at Levy UK, said: “This is another exciting opportunity for us to showcase our culinary talent and business excellence.

“Our vision will continue to develop a diverse food and beverage offering that will cater to ever-changing tastes and dietary requirements but never compromising on quality, accessibility or sustainability.”

Earlier this week, Levy UK signed an extension to its agreement with Premier League football club Chelsea, which will run until 2023 at Stamford Bridge. Last month, the catering company added Wolverhampton Wanderers to its portfolio, with the long-term partnership at Molineux set to kick off on June 1.

Levy UK also provides catering services at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium, the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, The O2 in London and Twickenham, among others.
