Wasps claim first with 3D hospitality platform

Wasps has claimed a first for a Premiership Rugby club by providing fans with a virtual 3D view of the premium hospitality experiences available at Ricoh Arena.

The club has teamed up with AXS, the Ricoh Arena’s exclusive ticketing partner, to give fans a virtual insight into the hospitality suites at the stadium before purchasing.

The technology can be sampled on supporters’ phones or computers and offers a look at Ricoh Arena’s Pure Legends Lounge, Heineken Lounge, Directors Lounge, Premier Club and The Boardroom.

The platform will be available for fans to use ahead of Wasps’ Challenge Cup match against Agen at Ricoh Arena this Saturday. Wasps said that the platform is different to other seating maps as it is a “mobile-first” product and provides a fully immersive 360-degree experience.

Wasps’ head of commercial sales, James Wootton, said: “This investment takes top-flight rugby hospitality to the next level. Each of our lounges has a distinct offering.

“We are proud of the feedback we have received from businesses across the region who use match days to reward staff and entertain clients – which in turn has driven referrals for us. But we want to show as many people as possible the first-class environment on offer to a wider audience, and the online viewing tool does just that.”

Giles Bayliss, business development director at AXS Europe, added: “We believe that by combining immersive views of the lounges along with seated views of the pitch, it will provide the perfect launch pad to attract even more supporters into the hospitality lounges for the first time this season.

“This is our second season partnering with Wasps and Ricoh Arena and we are extremely proud to continue to drive innovation to enhance and enrich the purchasing experience of Wasps fans via the 3D virtualisation of the hospitality experiences.”
