ASM Global has expanded its US business development division with the appointments of Katherine Krohn as vice-president of business development and Aliah Summers as director of business development, sales and marketing.
Krohn (pictured left) joins ASM Global from US telecommunications company Mobilitie, where she served as vice-president of national sports and entertainment. Summers (pictured right) most recently served as national strategic sales director at Foodbuy, a division of Compass Group N.A.
The appointments tie in with ASM Global’s plan to broaden its portfolio with new business vertical growth including programming, entertainment districts, and other municipal and privately held entertainment and visitor centres.
Premier League football club Liverpool has appointed Ben Latty as its new commercial director.
Latty returns to the club from Bristol Sport, where he held a board position of group commercial director. Latty previously spent eight years at Liverpool, during which he held a number of positions across its commercial team.
Latty’s primary focus will be leading the club’s partnerships team while developing opportunities to grow commercial revenues. He will also be a member of Liverpool’s executive team.
World Rugby has appointed Sally Horrox as its director of women’s rugby.
Horrox (pictured centre) will assume the role in early May. She formerly worked as a non-executive director of England Netball and as an advisor to UEFA, international football federations and the English FA.
Horrox also played a leading role in the success of England’s Netball Super League and FA Women’s Super League. At World Rugby, she will work with specialist colleagues in the high performance, competitions, participation, revenue and fan engagement teams.
Rugby Australia has appointed Marissa Pace and James Durbin to the roles of chief marketing officer and chief commercial officer, respectively.
Pace joins Rugby Australia having spent the past three years as chief marketing officer at World Rugby. She has also held marketing and broadcast roles with Formula 1, the NFL, NASCAR and the PGA Tour.
Durbin most recently served as chief executive of Madison Sports Group, based in London. He has previously worked as commercial director at London Irish and as chief executive of Powerboat P1.
Global water company Bluewater has appointed Philip Russell as managing director of its UK-headquartered operation as part of plans to expand its international events and venues hydration team.
Russell currently serves as head of corporate sustainability at The R&A, organiser of golf’s Open Championship. He will join Bluewater in early May.
Bluewater said the appointment signals the company’s ambition to further build its hydration business for premium events and venues in the UK, Europe and the US, as well as globally.
