People on the move: ASM Global, MEIS and more

ASM Global has appointed Kelvin Moore as regional vice-president and John Page as regional general manager, respectively, of the company’s convention centre division.

Moore (pictured left) currently serves as regional general manager of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, a position he has held since 2018. Page (pictured right) has worked at ASM Global for 24 years and has served two leadership stints in Columbus along with a seven-year spell in Georgia at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.

Martin Robinson has been named as the UK consulting principal at design and architecture firm MEIS.

Robinson (pictured centre) served as managing director at KSS Design Group for 24 years. He has acted as a technical advisor on various high-profile football and sports projects, including the London 2012 Olympic venues.

The appointment is designed to expand MEIS’ presence in the UK.

Entertainment booking veteran Joe Giordano has been appointed vice-president of Oak View Group’s Arena & Stadium Alliance, a collection of the top 38 venues in North America that provides a platform for booking, content development, procurement and sponsorship sales opportunities.

Giordano takes up the role after nearly a decade with ASM Global, where he most recently worked as assistant general manager at the 19,199-seat BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He previously worked as a regional booking manager and developed content for 40-plus ASM Global venues.

In his new role, Giordano will report to Chris Granger, president of OVG360, the third-party, service-oriented division of Oak View Group that was formed last month. Giordano will replace Jeff Nickler, who is staying with OVG as senior vice-president and general manager of the new Moody Center arena in Austin.

The ACC Liverpool Group has appointed Kate Nicholls as its new chair of the board.

Nicholls, who currently serves as chief executive of UKHospitality, will take over from previous chair Max Steinberg, who has reached the end of his three-year fixed-term contract.

Forthcoming events at the ACC Liverpool Group include the Labour Party conference and the World Gymnastics Championships.
