Tech Stack: LaLiga enters the metaverse

Our weekly tech round-up from the stadium and arena sector…

LaLiga, the governing body of the top two divisions of Spanish football, has agreed a sponsorship deal with Korean metaverse platform TVM.

As LaLiga’s official sponsor in the metaverse, TVM will work with the league to develop an exclusive ecosystem in the virtual space. As part of the deal, TVM will develop Triverse, a sports-focused metaverse offering augmented reality experiences for fans.

The deal will initially run for two and a half years but can be extended. LaLiga will be able to integrate its virtual partners within Triverse, which will feature official content from clubs such as press conferences, match highlights and player interviews.

GZ6G Technologies, an enterprise smart solutions provider for stadiums and other large venues, has announced that its Green Zebra Smart Labs division is working to identify a partnership outreach programme with stadium owners and cities throughout the US.

The programme will focus on smart solution technologies and upgrading venue infrastructures with smart technologies. The programme will look to reduce and solve challenging and time-consuming venue and user engagement issues through data analytics and an artificial intelligence platform that connects to various smart technologies.

GZ6G Technologies is seeking strategic alliances for tech advisory with NFL and Major League Baseball teams interested in partnering with Green Zebra, but all sports stadiums are encouraged to apply.

Wells Fargo Center, home of the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers and NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, has selected Shift4 to process payments for its online and in-person ticketing, food and beverage concessions and retail sales.

Shift4 becomes the official payment process for the arena and the Flyers, and will also assume naming rights for the Center City Club, Wells Fargo Center’s exclusive event-level club.
