The Minnesota Timberwolves NBA basketball team has unveiled plans for a new premium space at Target Center.
The Backcourt Club will open during the 2024-25 season and provide an enhanced offering within the lower-level centre court sections of Target Center.
The Timberwolves said the project reflects growing demand among fans for premium seating options. The Backcourt Club will be located on the floor level and will be accessible through the Target Center lobby via a private entrance.
Backcourt Club patrons will have access to an upscale bar and lounge experience, including exclusive food and beverage offerings for members. The club will also feature expansive glass windows and a grab-and-go market for quick refreshments and snacks. Other benefits will include private restrooms and an in-seat beverage service.
Timberwolves chief executive Ethan Casson said: “The Backcourt Club is another example of our continued commitment to offering a best-in-class experience and investing into new and desired amenities for our fans at Target Center.
“After selling out our Lexus Courtside Club the past two seasons, our fans have voiced the desire for more premium inventory. Coupled with the on-court success of the team, we have an opportunity to continue to not only sell out Target Center night after night but provide a more elevated and enhanced fan experience.”
Sports merchandise company Fanatics recently announced plans to upgrade the retail experience at Target Center, which also serves as the home of the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx.
The long-term contract named Fanatics as both teams’ end-to-end retail partner. As part of these deals, Fanatics took over the official e-commerce business for both teams, and also operates the in-venue retail touchpoints on gamedays at Target Center.
The Timberwolves have sold out all home games this season and currently sit top of the Western Conference despite yesterday’s (Monday’s) loss to the Charlotte Hornets.
