Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE), parent company of the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, has announced the third phase of improvements for Rogers Arena, with the latest upgrades to focus on enhancing the fan experience throughout the venue.

The latest phase of the C$150m (£87m/€102m/$110m) investment over the next two summers includes replacing all lower and upper bowl seating with new custom-designed black seats that include cupholders.

CSE has also announced enhancements to the Toyota Plaza to improve the exterior pre-game experience by the end of the 2023-24 season. Supporters can expect a “brighter, more fan-centric branded experience” when attending games, with a new and improved digital screen to be launched at the concourse level of the arena.

There are also plans to invest in a new Level 400 sports and entertainment experience for fans that want a mix of social experiences and event viewing.

The latest updates have been revealed after CSE in August unveiled plans to make Rogers Arena one of the most digitally-advanced facilities of its kind. CSE also announced plans to add a new premium hospitality offering which players walk through to take to the ice.

August’s announcement concerned phases two and three of a long-term venture. Phase one of the renovation project started in 2022 with a focus on the player experience through renovations to the team dressing room, exercise facilities, coaches’ offices, and multi-purpose media room.

Phase two of the plan is now complete following the installation of a new state-of-the-art videoboard, in-bowl digital screens and control room, enhanced hockey operations, ice-level improvements with new boards and glass, and the creation and launch of the Well Health Presidents Club.

CSE president Michael Doyle said: “Last August, ownership committed to replacing all seats in the building, and we confirm that we are proceeding with that investment. The project, which will begin when the hockey season is over, is something our members and fans have been requesting for some time, and we understand its importance.

“With our new seating and our new state-of-the-art videoboard installed, when you step into the Rogers Arena bowl, it will feel like you are in a new building.”

Rogers Arena opened in 1995 and has a capacity of 19,700. It attracts over two million visitors annually.
